About The Position

Pelham Medical Services is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage from August 10th, 2026, to August 21st, 2026. This role involves delivering comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. The physician will work collaboratively with other providers in the clinic to ensure cross coverage and same-day access for patients. A key aspect of the role is the utilization of an electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically Med Access EMR, to accurately record all relevant patient details. This information will be accessible to all collaborating team members, ensuring continuity of care. The clinic is well-established and offers a supportive, collegial environment with flexible practice opportunities. It is equipped with a procedural room for physicians interested in performing office-based procedures. The community of Old Town Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a unique and charming environment with a rich seafaring past.

Requirements

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Responsibilities

• Delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness

Benefits

• Guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
• Additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded
• Accommodations up to $300 per night
• Travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
• Travel time up to 10 hours per week
• Licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)
