Locum - Hospitalist - Lunenburg
About The Position
Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital is seeking a Hospitalist to provide Locum coverage during a period of active recruitment. Physicians at FMH provide care for up to six inpatients across various units, including restorative care rehab, alternate level of care, medical, and Veteran’s long-term care. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, long-term care, and community-based care. It features 30 inpatient beds, plus a 23-bed Veteran’s Unit, and is well-equipped with diagnostic and treatment services. FMH fosters strong connections between primary care providers, specialists, and allied health professionals through its outpatient and specialty ambulatory clinics. Additionally, it offers opportunities for teaching and mentorship as a preceptor for Dalhousie University medical students and residents.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) (for family physicians).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Responsibilities
- Provide Locum coverage as a Hospitalist.
- Provide care for up to six inpatients across various units.
- Participate in teaching and mentorship as a preceptor for medical students and residents.
