Family Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Wilmington, NC. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. Services include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This role is open to new graduates, with comprehensive on-site orientation, training shifts, a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, and an on-call provider for clinical support. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and marketability high. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic and serving as professional role models for medical assistants. The position offers extensive pediatric care experience while maintaining other clinical skills, positioning it as a significant career launchpad. The role involves a two-year commitment to the community and oneself, with expected returns for years to come.
Requirements
- Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
- MSN, or higher education required.
- DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (cost covered by employer).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
- Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
- Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
- Suture.
- Splint.
- Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
- Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
- Handle general dermatology.
- Address general eye problems.
- Perform general EKG interpretations.
- Utilize emergency management skills.
- Provide general GYN expertise.
- Treat children of all ages.
- Provide occupational medicine services.
- Conduct telemedicine appointments.
