About The Position
KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Gainesville, FL. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly. The services offered include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive onboarding, training, and ongoing support including a free UpToDate subscription and a dedicated on-call provider for clinical guidance. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice to treat patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric individuals, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills, making them highly marketable. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants whom they will mentor. The position offers the chance to significantly impact families in the community by providing accessible and affordable care, including accepting Medicaid and being open 362 days a year. This role is described as a career launchpad, with a commitment of two years expected from the provider.
Requirements
- Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
- MSN, or higher education required.
- DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
- Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
- Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
- Suture.
- Splint.
- Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
- Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
- Manage general dermatology issues.
- Address general eye problems.
- Perform general EKG interpretations.
- Utilize emergency management skills.
- Provide general GYN expertise.
- Treat children of all ages.
- Provide occupational medicine services.
- Conduct telemedicine appointments.
