About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in East Ellijay, GA. The role focuses on providing patient-centered care in an urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine setting. The FNP will lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is open to new graduates and offers comprehensive training and ongoing support, including a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and on-call clinical support. The position allows for the full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. FNPs will act as the primary medical provider in the clinic, leading a team of medical assistants and serving as a professional role model. The role also supports rural communities by providing access to care in underserved areas. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This position is described as a significant career advancement opportunity with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures including toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Manage general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
