About The Position

KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Montgomery, Alabama. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. Services offered include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This role is open to new graduates, with comprehensive training provided, including an on-site HQ orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an NP on-call for clinical decision-making support. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric individuals, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The FNP will act as the primary medical provider in the clinic, leading their team of medical assistants and serving as a professional role model. The role offers the opportunity to support families in the community by providing accessible care, including for children and Medicaid patients, serving as a safety net and offering an alternative to expensive ER visits. The position is a two-year commitment with the potential for significant career growth.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
