About The Position

OHSU Family Medicine, part of the OHSU School of Medicine, is dedicated to family health, providing comprehensive preventive, primary, and specialty care for all ages. Despite serving over 120,000 patients annually, our team knows patients and their families by name. Our South Hillsboro Primary Care clinic has been recognized for its exceptional patient care, ranking among the nation's best. The appointee will provide services as assigned by their supervisor, contributing to the university's missions in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. This role, based at South Hillsboro, a clinic owned and operated by Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC) with HMC oversight, involves partnership with both OHSU and HMC.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Licensed in Oregon.
  • M.D./D.O.
  • Successful completion of a graduate medical education in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency.
  • Capable of providing comprehensive health services.
  • Certified to prescribe all classes of DEA approved medications.
  • Approved staff privileges at OHSU University Hospital, OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital and other specific community hospitals as partnerships expand.
  • Previous work experience in primary care is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Obstetrical and maternity training including uncomplicated and high risk OB management, surgical obstetrics, Dilatation & Curettage, OB and pelvic ultrasound, colposcopy, and family planning.
  • Performing vasectomies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full spectrum family medicine care, with obstetrical (OB) care strongly preferred but not required.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty to maintain an active practice.
  • Provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
  • Develop the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, successful from both a professional and business perspective.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development, and scholarship.
  • See patients directly in the clinic eight half days per week, with two half days for administrative/scholarship duties.
  • Document patient care using the electronic health record, maintaining complete and timely documentation consistent with OHSU and Family Medicine policies.
  • Be available for teaching activities, including resident and student precepting, and didactics.
  • Potentially include Inpatient Care (HMC and OHSU) with shared call duties, by mutual agreement.
  • Participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours, including evenings and weekends, and call coverage.
  • Contribute to the development of the practice as a successful clinical and academic operation.
