About The Position

Cascades East Family Medicine in Klamath Falls, Oregon, offers a unique rural medicine experience as a certified Patient Centered Primary Care Medical Home emphasizing team-based care and innovation. Sky Lakes Medical Center, the sole hospital for the Klamath Basin, serves as the base for this practice. The setting is ideal for practicing primary care due to a strong medical community and populations with significant healthcare needs. Providers collaborate within an interprofessional team to deliver the full scope of family medicine, caring for patients of all ages, including newborns, pregnant individuals, and those with substance use disorder, offering medication-assisted treatment and gender-affirming care. OHSU is committed to diversity and inclusivity for all patients. The appointee will provide services as assigned by their supervisor to support the university's missions in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Licensed in Oregon.
  • M.D./D.O. degree.
  • Graduate medical education in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency.
  • Capable of providing comprehensive health services.
  • Certified to prescribe.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a clinician at Cascades East Family Medicine Center and hold privileges at Sky Lakes Medical Center.
  • Practice clinical medicine at the assigned site and other approved locations.
  • Work collaboratively with full and part-time faculty to maintain an active practice.
  • See patients directly in clinic for eight half-days per week, with two half-days allocated for administrative duties.
  • Document patient care using the electronic health record, ensuring complete and timely documentation consistent with OHSU, Cascade East Family Medicine Center, and Sky Lakes Medical Center policies.
  • Participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours, including evenings and weekends, and share call coverage.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation that is professionally and financially successful.
  • Be available for teaching activities.
  • Potentially include Inpatient Care with shared call duties, by mutual agreement between the Department and the physician.
