About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Facility Driver for its Fort Wayne residential facility, which provides drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The driver monitors the transportation schedule and safely transports clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments. The role also includes transporting appointment documentation and lab specimens, engaging with clients during transport, and helping with luggage. When not transporting, the driver assists with custodial and maintenance duties. The vehicle must be kept maintained, fueled, and ready for use.

Requirements

• Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Dignified, respectable character that reflects recovery principles.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in the treatment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments as necessary.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients at a peer-support level during transport and assist with luggage.
• Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times.
• Assist with custodial and maintenance duties when not actively transporting clients.
