About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring Facility Drivers for its detox and residential treatment facility in Metairie, Louisiana. The driver transports clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments; handles external appointment documentation and lab specimens; and provides peer-level support to clients during transport. The role also includes helping clients with luggage and performing custodial and maintenance duties when not transporting clients. Drivers are expected to keep the vehicle maintained, fueled, and ready for use.
Requirements
- Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Dignified, respectable character reflecting recovery principles.
- Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in the treatment industry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments as necessary.
- Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
- Engage with clients at a peer-support level during transport and assist with luggage.
- Keep the vehicle well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times.
- Assist with custodial and maintenance duties when not actively transporting clients.
