The role manages workforce planning and performance for direct reports, ensuring compliance with policies and Facilities Maintenance procedures, while fostering a culture of accountability and growth. They participate in the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring, onboarding, and terminating employees. Additionally, the Facilities Manager partners with Facilities Maintenance leadership and HR to ensure effective performance management of direct reports and mentors them by providing learning and development opportunities. The role oversees day-to-day scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with assigned teams, managing routine maintenance and repair activities, monitoring project timelines, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. They review work for accuracy and safety, support commissioning activities, vendor reports, and conduct rounding to ensure quality and adherence to facilities maintenance procedures and regulatory standards. The Facilities Manager implements departmental policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients, families, and staff, and communicates organizational values and educates staff through daily interactions. They monitor facilities operations, report issues promptly, and manage day-to-day systems, supporting continuous improvement by identifying problems and implementing solutions within the team. This role also oversees vendor coordination for maintenance needs, process updates, and timely communication with stakeholders to minimize disruption to medical center operations. They analyze, test, and implement equipment repairs and replacements, ensuring quality and continuity of services. The Facilities Manager collaborates with leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate department's annual and capital budgets, maintaining robust financial controls and compliance with organizational policies, and evaluates workload and ability to complete work internally before engaging vendors. Finally, they implement departmental policies and procedures, monitor adherence to safety and infection control practices, and maintain accurate documentation, overseeing preventative maintenance programs and spot-checking work for quality and compliance, and promoting a safe environment and supporting required training programs for staff.
