About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is hiring a Packer at its manufacturing facility in Goodyear, Arizona. The Packer inspects finished products before bagging and places bagged products into boxes, cases, or displays. The role also supports food-safety cleanliness objectives and established plant safety standards.

This position works Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The Packer may train new packers, provide breaks and lunches, and perform sanitation duties every Friday. The role requires standing throughout the shift and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Willingness and ability to stand 100% of the time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform weekly sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packaged items and alert the Machine Operator or Shift Supervisor to problems.
• Verify package weight, code, dates, and price.
• Examine packages for proper seals and report conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Pack products into cartons, cans, and specialty containers, and place containers onto skids.
• Train new packers.
• Prepare items when “extra,” label boxes and barrels, and rework items.
• Clean work areas and maintain an organized, sanitary work environment.
• Give breaks and lunches.
• Pick chips in the processing room as needed.
• Perform sanitation duties every Friday.
• Disassemble packaging machines, clean them, and reassemble them.
• Use cleaning chemicals, brooms, air guns, and other tools as needed.
