About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is hiring a Packer at its manufacturing facility in Goodyear, Arizona. The role inspects finished products before bagging and places packaged products into boxes, cases, or displays. The Packer also helps maintain food-safety cleanliness and follow established safety standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The position includes inspecting packages for weight, codes, dates, price, and proper seals; packing products into cartons, cans, and specialty containers; and placing containers onto skids. Additional duties include training new packers, preparing extra items, labeling boxes and barrels, reworking items, cleaning work areas, covering breaks and lunches, and picking chips in the processing room as needed. Weekly sanitation duties include disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling packaging machines using cleaning chemicals and tools. Requirements

Basic math and reading skills.
Knowledge of product quality and production processes.
Must be willing and able to stand 100% of the time.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to perform sanitation duties weekly.

Responsibilities

Inspect packaged items and alert the Machine Operator or Shift Supervisor to problems.
Verify package weight, code, dates, and price, and examine packages for proper seals.
Report conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
Pack products into cartons, cans, and specialty containers, and place them onto skids.
Train new packers.
Prepare extra items, label boxes and barrels, and rework items.
Clean work areas and maintain an organized, sanitary work environment.
Give breaks and lunches.
Pick chips in the processing room as needed.
Perform sanitation duties every Friday, including disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling packaging machines.
Use cleaning chemicals, brooms, air guns, and other tools as needed.
