About The Position

Coordinates predictive and preventive maintenance and repair of facilities, systems, and equipment. Coordinates hospital departments’ requests for maintenance and repair services, assigns work orders, and coordinates purchases of materials, supplies, and equipment. Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks and coordinates small programs with limited budget or impact.

The role includes coordinating plant maintenance programs, monitoring work orders and preventive maintenance, administering the computerized maintenance management system, conducting routine inspections, and monitoring maintenance supplies and spare parts. The coordinator also assists with reporting, recommendations, employee training, and responses to complaints.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school education/GED or equivalent.
• Associate’s/technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Five years of relevant industrial or commercial maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates plant maintenance programs.
• Assists in preparing reports, analyzing data, and making recommendations to improve plant operations and solve maintenance-related problems.
• Coordinates work orders, establishes work-request priorities, and ensures completed work meets the customer’s request.
• Ensures records associated with maintenance testing are completed.
• Reviews completed and open work orders and preventive maintenance requests to keep the program current and up to date.
• Administers the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and plant-equipment maintenance history.
• Performs routine inspections of equipment, facilities, and tasks performed by engineers, maintenance staff, grounds staff, and housekeepers to assess future needs, quality assurance, and productivity.
• Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
• Monitors use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment, and initiates reordering when necessary.
• Investigates and responds to complaints.
• Assists with employee training and orientation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
