About The Position

Adventist Health Portland is seeking a Facilities Engineer to help keep equipment and facilities in reliable operation and good repair. The role performs routine general and preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, building repairs, and general construction duties, and maintains required records. The position plans and performs routine equipment and building maintenance and repairs, participates in equipment installations and larger renovation or construction work as needed, and carries out preventative maintenance and safety tests. It also maintains service and preventative maintenance records, along with the tools and supplies needed to perform the work. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

A valid driver's license is required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

High school education, GED, or equivalent.
Associate's or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Hospital and plant equipment experience.
General maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Plan and perform routine general equipment repairs and services.
Participate in equipment installations as needed.
Alter and repair machinery, equipment, or facilities using basic skills, standard procedures, diagrams, or manufacturer instructions.
Plan and perform routine general building maintenance repairs and services.
Set up and install furniture.
Participate in major renovations, new construction, and alterations as needed.
Inspect equipment and perform required preventative maintenance and safety tests.
Correct problems encountered and promptly report equipment or system operation problems to the supervisor.
Contact outside service assistance for major equipment failures beyond the employee's skill level.
Maintain records of service cycles and other maintenance activities, including required preventative maintenance records, reports, and files.
Maintain the tools and supplies needed to perform duties.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
