About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician assists in operating the Facilities Maintenance Department and performs repairs and maintenance on building property to support safe and effective operations in accordance with company procedures and instructions. The position reports to the Facilities Supervisor/Manager and may perform other duties as assigned, including duties during the Facilities Supervisor’s absence. The technician must be willing to travel to and work at other Island AAC locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of experience in commercial or residential building maintenance or a related field.
• Working knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, mechanical maintenance, grounds and landscaping, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, five-year background check, ten-year criminal history check, and security threat assessment.

Nice To Haves

• Trade-school certificate in refrigeration or air conditioning, residential or building electrical work, heavy equipment operation or mechanics, or plumbing.
• CDL and medical certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, mechanical, grounds and landscaping, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance work.
• Assist with administrative duties as needed.
• Troubleshoot problems that arise.
• Occasionally provide assistance in other areas.
• Perform other assigned duties, including those required during the Facilities Supervisor’s absence.
• Travel to and work at other Island AAC locations.
