About The Position

Performs repairs and coordinates and monitors operational building maintenance activities at Police Precincts, Arts Centers, a Recreational Center, Fire Stations, and other City-owned facilities at multiple locations around the City of South Fulton. Under the general supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, performs a wide variety of repairs and maintenance across multiple disciplines to keep facilities available for use and consistently safe and clean.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

• Vocational or technical training in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and manual general maintenance work at assigned facilities, including installing or repairing plumbing systems, laying tile flooring, and troubleshooting HVAC units.
• Perform routine semi-skilled facility maintenance and help ensure facilities remain available, safe, and clean.
• Repair and maintain facilities and equipment; perform general construction, repair, and installation tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and landscaping work.
• Operate maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment.
• Work independently or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform general maintenance, repair, and installation work, such as installing or repairing doors, changing light bulbs, locks, and fences; handling light plumbing duties and plumbing fixtures; replacing windows; repairing gutters and roof leaks; assembling furniture or equipment; hanging pictures and blinds; and moving furniture.
• Maintain inventories of tools and materials, order supplies as needed, and pick up special parts from suppliers when appropriate.
• Identify and request supplies needed for repairs and preventive maintenance of building systems.
• Perform other related duties as required.
