Chevron is hiring Civil Engineering interns at various operating locations across the U.S. These interns will be assigned a civil engineering mentor and will work on one or more projects to support operating facilities through the application of technical engineering knowledge and project management skills. Areas of support may include optimizing facilities for safety and reliability, providing technical engineering support for turnarounds and projects, developing and/or deploying industry-leading technologies to reduce carbon and increase efficiency, and using digitalization and data analytics to improve process operations and safety. Top-performing interns may be invited back for a return internship or offered a full-time position after graduation. New graduates who join Chevron full-time enter the Horizons Program, a structured early-career experience that includes formal training, on-the-job learning, mentorship, multiple job assignments, and possible location rotations. Civil Engineers in this program will be enrolled in a Civil/Structural/Marine development track. Engineers in this track will develop competencies to design, analyze, fabricate, construct, transport, install, and startup offshore, onshore, and nearshore facilities, and marine systems. After graduating from Horizons, civil engineers may continue in roles aligned with their initial track or focus on other areas such as Reliability & Integrity Engineering, Technical Safety Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Engineering Design & Projects, or General Facilities Engineering. Civil Engineers have the opportunity to advance as individual contributors or as engineering supervisors and managers, and may also work in or lead other business functions like Operations or Business Development & Commercial.
