About The Position

Chevron is seeking Mechanical Engineering interns to support operating facilities through the application of technical engineering knowledge and project management skills. These areas of support may include optimizing facilities for maximum value, providing technical engineering support for turnarounds and projects, developing and deploying industry-leading technologies to reduce carbon and increase efficiency, and using digitalization and data analytics to improve process operations and safety. Interns will be assigned a mechanical engineering mentor and will work on one or more projects. At the completion of the internship, interns may have the opportunity to apply for a return internship or full-time position with Chevron. New graduates who join Chevron full-time enter the Horizons Program, a structured early-career experience that includes formal training, on-the-job learning, mentorship, multiple job assignments, and possible location rotations. Mechanical Engineers will be enrolled in a Mechanical Systems development track to develop a core technical foundation. Engineers in this track will develop competencies to design, analyze, and optimize fixed and rotating equipment such as piping & valve systems, heaters and heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, and other rotating equipment. After graduating from Horizons, mechanical engineers may continue to work in roles aligned with their initial Horizons track, or they may choose to focus on other areas of interest, including Reliability & Integrity Engineering, Technical Safety Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Engineering Design & Projects, or General Facilities Engineering.
