About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern on the Water R&D Team, you will contribute to product development projects for Resideo’s Water portfolio. Projects may include quality improvements, enhancements or extensions to existing products, and technology studies for new products. Products may include potable and hydronic water valves, filters, pumps, leak-sensing devices, and other residential water components. The role provides hands-on product development experience, including a project through multiple phases of development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and mentorship from engineering professionals.

Requirements

• Active student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Experience with 3D modeling software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for mechanical design.
• Demonstrated ability to learn, overcome obstacles, and solve problems.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and other professionals in an interactive, team-based setting.
• Simulation experience with software for FEA, CFD, multibody dynamics, or 1D system simulations.

Responsibilities

• Design parts and assemblies using Creo.
• Conduct engineering analyses to assess product function, strength, and robustness.
• Interpret regulatory standards to verify new-design compliance.
• Develop engineering specifications for new and existing products.
• Create test plans, analyze data, and write reports.
• Assemble and evaluate prototypes.
• Work with cross-functional, international development teams.
• Present project progress in formal and informal meetings.
