About The Position

The Part-Time Facilities Coordinator supports the safety, security, and effective operation of the organization’s buildings, grounds, and facilities. The role serves as a primary contact for day-to-day security and facilities matters, conducts tours to help ensure buildings and grounds are safe and secure, responds to campus emergency and non-emergency calls, and completes a written report for each shift worked. The schedule is alternating weekends, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The anticipated hourly wage is $20.00; the position is non-exempt.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Current New York State Security License.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and emergency personnel.
• Ability to work extended hours, up to 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for long periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to crouch, bend, kneel, stop, reach, and climb, and to use hand and finger dexterity.
• Ability to work in exposure to extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the security of buildings, grounds, entrances, and other facilities.
• Conduct regular inspections and security rounds to identify safety, security, maintenance, or access issues.
• Monitor and respond to building fire alarms.
• Respond to campus emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Conduct tours to help ensure buildings and grounds are safe and secure.
• Complete a written report for each shift worked.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow Cary Institute safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
