About The Position

The Facilitator Information Desk role greets patients and visitors and represents the organization through congenial customer service, professional behavior and dress, concise communication, sound judgment, and effective handling of inquiries. The position identifies where patients need to go for services and provides appropriate directions. It also assists with account activation and Document Imaging. St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care and state-designated trauma center on the Paterson campus. It provides a broad range of specialty and subspecialty services and accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases. Its nursing team, including St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, has held the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence since 1999.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Up to one year of basic technical training in medical office practice, plus 3 to 6 months of on-the-job training and orientation.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
