Face to Face Interpreter – Russian / Ukrainian / Uzbek
About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring face-to-face interpreters for Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek. Interpreters use their bilingual skills to assist people at medical, social service, and other appointments. This is in-person interpretation, not video or telephone interpretation. The role offers a flexible schedule: contractors choose which assignments to accept and may take as many or as few as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. The company welcomes applicants without prior professional interpretation experience and those who speak English as a second language.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
- Speak English and Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
- Accept and complete available interpretation assignments according to an individually chosen schedule.
