About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek interpreters for in-person assignments in the Central Ohio area. Interpreters assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is face-to-face interpretation, not video or telephone interpretation. Contractors choose their own schedules and may accept as many or as few available assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. The work offers flexible scheduling and compensation based on the assignments accepted.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; both are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of accredited interpreter training, such as Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' Access Academy, court interpretation training, or an interpretation certificate or degree from an accredited college or university.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek.

Nice To Haves

• No previous professional interpretation experience is required.
• Applicants who speak English as a second language are welcome.

Responsibilities
