Face to Face Interpreter – Soninke
About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking a Soninke interpreter to provide in-person interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments. This role is face-to-face only and does not involve video or telephone interpretation. The company is based in Columbus, Ohio, and serves clients locally and nationwide. Interpreters choose their own schedules and may accept as many or as few available assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round, although most are requested during business hours. Compensation is based on assignments, and higher rates may be offered to individuals with more experience.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
- Speak English and Soninke.
Nice To Haves
- Previous professional interpretation experience is not required.
- Being multilingual is welcomed.
- Speaking English as a second language is welcomed.
- More interpretation experience may qualify candidates for higher rates.
