About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking English-French interpreters to provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments. This work is not conducted by video or telephone. Interpreters may accept as many or as few assignments as they choose and set their own schedules. Assignments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round, although most are requested during business hours. Compensation depends on the assignments accepted. Applicants may have no prior professional interpretation experience and may speak English as a second language.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; both are provided at no cost to the applicant.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program, such as Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, court interpretation training, or an interpretation certificate or degree from an accredited college or university.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
- Speak English and French.
