About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring Vietnamese-speaking interpreters for face-to-face assignments in the Central Ohio area. Interpreters use their bilingual skills to assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is an opportunity to earn money by accepting available assignments; interpreters choose their own schedules and may take as many or as few assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. Prior professional interpretation experience is not required. Applicants who speak English and Vietnamese, including those who speak English as a second language, are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; both are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program, such as Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' Access Academy, court interpretation training, or an interpretation certificate or degree from an accredited college or university.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Vietnamese.

• Previous professional interpretation experience is not required.
