Face to Face Interpreter – Berber
About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, a local interpretation and translation business based in downtown Columbus, is seeking a Berber language interpreter for in-person assignments. The interpreter will use bilingual skills to assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is contractor work with a self-directed schedule; interpreters may accept as many or as few available assignments as they choose. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. Previous professional interpretation experience is not required, and applicants who speak English as a second language are welcome.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; both are provided at no cost to the applicant.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency, or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
- Speak English and Berber.
