About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring a Pashto/Pushto interpreter to provide in-person interpretation—not video or telephone interpretation—for medical, social service, and other appointments. Interpreters use their bilingual skills to assist people who speak Pashto/Pushto. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. As a contractor, you choose your schedule and how many available assignments to accept; earnings depend on the assignments taken. Previous professional interpretation experience is not required.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; both are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Pashto/Pushto.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
• Use English and Pashto/Pushto language skills to assist people who speak the language or dialect.
