About The Position

The company is seeking qualified, fully bilingual Pashto interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for local clients in the Omaha, Nebraska area. Interpreters use their language and cultural knowledge to assist non-English speakers, including in medical settings. This is an independent contractor, PRN position with flexible, as-needed hours; hours are not guaranteed and depend on interpreter availability, languages spoken, and client needs. Applicants must have some availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., when services are typically needed. Candidates must provide proof of vaccination or exemption documentation before the interview; medical information will be handled confidentially.

Requirements

• Be fully bilingual.
• Have excellent communication and listening skills.
• Be familiar with medical terminology.
• Be able to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Have transportation to attend local appointments in person.
• Have the technical skills to learn and use an online portal, including printing and uploading vouchers.
• Have access to a printer.
• Complete required background checks and drug screens.
• Provide proof of vaccination or documentation of a medical or religious exemption as part of the hiring process.
• Have some availability Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
