About The Position

Provide in-person interpretation for local Nebraska clients, with an immediate need in the Omaha area. The role helps non-English speakers by using the interpreter’s language and cultural knowledge. This is an independent contractor position with flexible, PRN (as-needed) hours. Hours are not guaranteed and depend on availability, languages spoken, and client needs. Applicants must have some availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., when services are typically needed. Candidates must provide proof of vaccination or exemption documentation before the interview; medical information will be handled confidentially in accordance with applicable laws.

Requirements

• Must be fully bilingual.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Must have transportation to attend local appointments.
• Technical skills to learn and use an online portal, including printing and uploading vouchers.
• Must have access to a printer.
• Background checks and drug screens are required.
• Must have some availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Must submit proof of vaccination or exemption documentation prior to the interview.

Nice To Haves

• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred.
