About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring a Vietnamese-language interpreter for face-to-face assignments in the Central Ohio area. Interpreters assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is an opportunity to use bilingual skills to help people who speak Vietnamese and earn money by accepting available assignments. The role is described as contractor work with a flexible schedule: interpreters choose their own hours and may take as many or as few assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, though most are requested during business hours. Applicants do not need prior professional interpretation experience, and people who speak English as a second language are welcome.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; the posting states these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Vietnamese.
