Face to Face Interpreter - French
About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring a French-language face-to-face interpreter to assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. The role involves in-person interpretation only, not video or telephone interpretation. Assignments are available throughout the year, with most requested during business hours. As a contractor, you choose your schedule and may accept as many or as few assignments as you wish. Earnings depend on the number of assignments accepted. Previous professional interpretation experience is not required, and applicants who speak English as a second language are welcome.
Requirements
- Must be located in the Central Ohio area.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a fingerprint-based federal criminal background check and a 10-panel drug screening; the posting states these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
- Bilingual English and French skills.
