About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking a Hebrew-English interpreter to provide in-person interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments in the Central Ohio area. This is face-to-face interpretation only, not video or telephone interpretation. Interpreters choose their own schedules and may accept as many or as few available assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. The role offers an opportunity to earn money while using bilingual skills to help people who speak Hebrew. Previous professional interpretation experience and English as a first language are not required.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; the posting states these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program, such as Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, court interpretation training, or an interpretation certificate or degree from an accredited college or university.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Hebrew.
