About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking English and Farsi and/or Persian interpreters for face-to-face assignments in the Central Ohio area. Interpreters assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is contractor work with a flexible schedule: interpreters choose their availability and may accept as many or as few assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. The employer welcomes applicants without previous professional interpretation experience and those who speak English as a second language.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; the employer states these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency, or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Farsi and/or Persian.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
• Accept and complete available assignments according to the interpreter’s chosen schedule.
