About The Position

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking an organized Server to join its food and beverage team and create memorable guest experiences at a luxury Five-Star, Five-Diamond hotel in the heart of Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The role supports service across the outlet and includes preparation, training, and delivering service according to hotel standards.

The Server provides friendly, discreet, and unobtrusive service, explains menu items and their preparation, handles take-out orders and cash, and helps maintain the restaurant, public areas, facilities, and equipment. The role also includes attending scheduled meetings and training and sharing guest feedback and complaints with management. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States. Compensation is $14.33 per hour plus tips.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of restaurant operations.
• At least 2 years of experience in a hospitality service field.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Handle activities related to outlet service, including preparation tasks, training, and performing service according to hotel standards.
• Greet, seat, and serve guests using appropriate service techniques while providing friendly, discreet, and unobtrusive service.
• Perform pre-service and after-service procedures according to standards.
• Explain food and beverage menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and proper service.
• Monitor the daily condition of restaurant facilities, public areas, and equipment, and recommend corrections or improvements as needed.
• Take daily take-out orders by phone or in person.
• Handle cash.
• Attend and participate in scheduled meetings and training.
• Provide management with feedback about guest comments and complaints.
