The External Manager in Training role is responsible for overseeing store operations, including recruiting, hiring, training, and managing employees to ensure excellent customer service and adherence to company standards. This role involves developing and assigning tasks to maintain site cleanliness, stocking, and organization. The position also focuses on building positive relationships with suppliers and customers, resolving complaints professionally, and promoting a safe and positive public image within the community. Additionally, the manager is responsible for conducting performance appraisals, training employees on customer service, safety procedures, and marketing execution, and ensuring effective communication among staff. Planning and organizing site operations, managing files, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of reports are key duties. The role also involves financial analysis, including daily sales and expense review, P&L budgeting and forecasting, managing merchandise margins, and safeguarding company funds. The working conditions involve performing most work indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots and taking out garbage. Employees may be exposed to occasional cold temperature extremes when working in walk-in coolers/freezers and occasional noise. The role requires working with a minimum of direction and supervision, acting as an effective manager, supervisor, and leader.
