About The Position

The Secondary Schools Extended Day District Manager will assure close coordination of all elementary district Extended Day programs in Chelsea. Secondary Schools Extended Day District Manager will work closely with academic and City/School administrative departments to facilitate a safe and enriching series of programs that align with Chelsea's Extended Day program mission, as well as collaborate with outside partner organizations.

Requirements

  • Current Chelsea staff with at least five years teaching experience
  • Experience as program administrator or other building leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning of all secondary Extended Day programs, to include program offerings, space/facility use, outreach, and development of common administrative reporting Practices.
  • Assist in the development of a comprehensive program communication plan for Chelsea families.
  • Oversee partnership with PlayBall for Middle School Intramurals
  • Collaborate with extended day partners, such as Soccer without Borders, to ensure seamless use of resources.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of a common attendance reporting system for all summer school programs.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of common safety protocols, in consultation and collaboration with District Student Support administrators and the Site Supervisors.
  • Consult with the Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunity to implement cohesive and appropriate hiring protocols in collaboration with the Site Supervisors visit program sites regularly to monitor quality.
  • Provide daily support for after school Site Supervisors and serve as a liaison to needed City and District resources to address the full range of program needs.
  • Serve as liaison between Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunity and Site Supervisors regarding building security and emergency procedures, including field trip protocols.
  • Serve as liaison between Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunity, site supervisors, and school administrators regarding resources needed for effective program delivery, including space and technology needs.
  • Assist site supervisors in the development of appropriate structures to monitor student track student progress, including pre and post-test options.
  • Supervise site supervisors to maintain accurate student records that can be accessed by all staff as needed.
  • Oversee payroll, alongside Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunity
  • Provide advice and support for site supervisors on staffing, hiring matters.
  • Lead development of a comprehensive, annual, program evaluation, in consultation with the Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunity

Benefits

  • Paid at hourly contractual rate, not to exceed $13,320 for the year.
