Boston Public Schools is seeking to fill the position of Secondary Schools Analyst in the Office of Data and Accountability (ODA). The Secondary Schools Analyst will work to establish district-wide systems and processes to track student access, participation, progress through and completion of high-quality career pathways that prepare students for success after graduation. Career pathways in BPS include but are not limited to Chapter 74 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, Early College pathways, and Innovation pathways. This position will involve a high level of coordination with internal BPS departments as well as external community partners, including, but not limited to, Edvestors, the Boston Private Industry Council and community colleges. The Secondary Schools Analyst will create dashboards, complete standard reporting, and conduct strategic analyses related to career pathways and equitable access to these opportunities within BPS, using data including but not limited to participation in CTE, Early College or Innovation pathways, attainment of industry-recognized credentials, and postsecondary outcomes. Working in partnership with the ODA and Office of College, Career, and Life Readiness (CCLR), the analyst will also conduct analyses and advance strategic initiatives, using data including but not limited to standardized test scores (MCAS, AP, SAT, etc), attendance, coursework, out-of-school time programs, and post-secondary experiences. As a member of a highly collaborative group, and given the time-sensitive nature of many of these analyses, the Secondary Schools Analyst can expect to rely on the experience of other analysts within ODA, and will be expected in turn to support the work of colleagues on related projects.
