About The Position

The Express/Lube Technician at a Toyota dealership performs routine vehicle maintenance while providing fast, accurate, and professional service. The position is suited to people starting or growing a career in automotive service and offers training and advancement opportunities within the dealership. Work includes maintenance and inspections, following manufacturer and dealership safety procedures, supporting service advisors, and participating in ongoing training.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive repair.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to stand, bend, and work on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior lube or express technician experience is preferred but not required.
• Toyota experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Rotate and balance tires as required.
• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections, including MPI video, and accurately document findings.
• Check and top off fluids, including engine oil, coolant, washer fluid, and transmission fluid when applicable.
• Replace engine air filters and cabin air filters.
• Follow Toyota factory procedures and dealership safety guidelines.
• Use shop equipment, tools, and lifts properly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; assist with shop cleanliness and workflow as needed.
• Immediately report vehicle damage, safety concerns, or needed repairs.
• Clearly communicate inspection results to service advisors and support them by recommending maintenance based on vehicle condition.
• Work efficiently to meet express service time standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and certification programs, demonstrate willingness to learn advanced automotive skills, and maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
