About The Position

Kemper is hiring an entry-level Express Adjuster to investigate and resolve first- and third-party auto physical damage claims in a fast-paced, in-office setting. The role involves attempting immediate contact to confirm and review coverage and is performed under direct supervision. The adjuster handles assigned claims within a stipulated monetary authority and works to conclude them promptly, equitably, and economically in accordance with the policy contract and damages presented. The role also delivers customer service to internal and external customers, agents, and prospective customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of entry-level claims handling or claims intake experience, or a college degree of 2+ years in lieu of experience.
Obtain and maintain a valid insurance adjuster’s license as required by location and claim assignment; licensure is required in McAllen and Birmingham.
Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a team-oriented approach.
Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Passion for delivering outstanding customer service to agents and customers.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish.
Experience in non-standard auto.

Responsibilities

Intake, investigate, value, establish exposure for, and settle assigned claims within stipulated monetary authority.
Conclude assigned claims promptly, equitably, and economically in accordance with policy provisions and the damages presented.
Take statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses to investigate losses.
Set claim reserves accurately and on time.
Deliver a best-in-class customer service experience to internal and external, current and prospective Kemper customers.
Attempt immediate contact to confirm and review coverage.
