About The Position

Examination of critical theories related to gender and sexuality, including language and curriculum; critical analysis of current practices in sexual health education; consideration of how gender and sexual diversity intersect with class and race, as well as the lived experience of the formation of identities, and how this may impact student and teacher growth and learning. In Teacher Education, Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in education
  • Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario
  • Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level
  • Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers
  • The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
