About The Position

As a member of Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s tool hook-up design engineering team, the Experienced Engineer is responsible for delivering 3D Revit models, 2D CAD details, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to internal and external construction partners. The role leads and participates in developing and maintaining design standards, performing and confirming fundamental engineering analysis, resolving field clashes, and closing RFIs to support build-out. It partners closely with construction leads, trade contractors, and fab engineering to deliver high-quality semiconductor facility support to the manufacturing floor. This is a technical, hands-on role focused on continuous improvement, iterative problem-solving, and teamwork. The position provides engineering review and oversight of mechanical designs for process gas, process cooling water (PCW), bulk and scrubbed exhaust, vacuum, chemical delivery systems, waste treatment, and electrical cable tray. It may direct contract designers to execute design packages and uses emerging analytical technology to support quality improvement initiatives. The engineer works with project stakeholders to adapt processes to site-specific requirements and represents the department in meetings with tool vendors, construction teams, hook-up fabricators, and software developers. The role also verifies equipment object accuracy and placement, reviews and approves design-related RFIs, and coordinates field walks to verify as-built accuracy. All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor are full-time and on-site.
