Experienced Electrical and Test Engineer
About The Position
The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization seeks an Experienced Electrical and Test Engineer to serve as an Automated Test Equipment Engineer on the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Electrical Engineering Capability Team in Huntsville, Alabama. The team designs, sustains, and upgrades next-generation electronics concepts and supports production and special test equipment design to meet increasing capacity requirements. The position supports automated test equipment design, engineering documentation, hardware fabrication and integration, and validation testing. The engineer develops and maintains electronic and electrical system requirements, creates test equipment design strategies, troubleshoots test anomalies, supports fielded equipment throughout its lifecycle, researches emerging technologies, and performs root cause corrective action investigations. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance, with an interim U.S. Secret Clearance required before start and a final U.S. Secret Clearance required after start. The position also requires compliance with U.S. export control requirements, which require the candidate to be a U.S. Person as defined by regulation. The employer will not sponsor employment visas. Relocation may be offered based on candidate eligibility. This position is not contingent upon a program award and is not safety sensitive. The listed shift is Shift 1 (United States of America).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering; Computer Science; Data Science; Mathematics; Physics; Chemistry; or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- At least 3 years of experience setting up equipment and performing tests on various products and assemblies using manual or automated test devices.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with power, analog, digital, or RF electronics testing or test methodology.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance is required pre-start and a final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.
- Meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
- Successful candidates must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
- Experience designing automated test equipment.
- Experience developing and executing test equipment verification and validation plans.
- Experience performing circuit analysis in SPICE or similar tools such as LTSpice.
- Experience with C, C++, C#, Python, or MATLAB.
- Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand software.
- Experience with Unigraphics, Creo, or other drafting CAD tools.
- Experience using laboratory electronic testing tools such as digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators.
- Active Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Support the design of automated test equipment, development of engineering documentation, and hardware fabrication, integration, and validation testing.
- Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to customer desires and contract requirements.
- Create and implement overall test equipment design strategies.
- Review and apply real-time test anomaly troubleshooting and resolve issues encountered during hardware validation and verification testing.
- Support fielded test equipment hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Research emerging technologies for potential applications to meet projected requirements.
- Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, troubleshooting, and resolutions.
