About The Position

The Automotive Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards, building Customer loyalty by developing trust and confidence in AutoNation's care for vehicle safety and reliability. The role performs repairs and maintenance efficiently and accurately, diagnoses malfunctions, carries out authorized repairs, conducts multi-point inspections, documents work, and coordinates with Parts and Service teams. Technicians maintain their own normal tools, stay current on factory technical bulletins, and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate. Success is measured by targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index. The position offers factory training, OEM certification support, and opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance according to repair orders, dealership procedures, and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the Customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal Technician tools not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Stay current on factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
