About The Position

Land Rover Newport Beach, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, is hiring a full-time Automotive Technician to recondition vehicles to the highest standards. The role is based in Newport Beach, California, and pays $33.80–$65.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and skill level. The technician reports to the Service Manager/Director and works with the parts department and, when applicable, a test technician.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of Jaguar Land Rover experience.
• Own a set of tools.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manual dexterity.
• Authorization to work in the USA.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, an MVR check, and a drug test.
• Professional attitude, strong work ethic, ability to follow directions and processes, willingness to keep learning, active-listening and communication skills, respect for teammates, customer-service mindset, and a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair-order work efficiently and accurately.
• Examine vehicles and diagnose necessary repairs.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Document work performed.
• Road-test vehicles when required or refer them to the test technician.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including regulations governing hazardous-waste disposal.
