About The Position

Land Rover Newport Beach, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, is hiring a full-time Automotive Technician to recondition vehicles to high standards. The technician performs repairs efficiently and accurately, diagnoses vehicle issues, coordinates with the parts department, documents work, and road-tests vehicles when required. The role requires maintaining safety and quality standards and complying with applicable regulations, including those related to hazardous-waste disposal. The position is based in Newport Beach, California, and pays $33.80–$65.00 per hour based on experience, certifications, and skill level.

Requirements

At least 2 years of Jaguar Land Rover experience.
Own a set of tools.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Manual dexterity.
Authorization to work in the USA.
Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, an MVR check, and a drug test.
Ability to follow directions and processes.

Responsibilities

Perform work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately.
Examine vehicles and diagnose necessary repairs.
Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
Document work performed.
Road-test vehicles when required or refer them to the test technician.
Maintain high safety and quality standards.
Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including rules governing hazardous-waste disposal.
