About The Position

Horace Mann is seeking an Exclusive Insurance Agent in Lima, Ohio, to build and manage an insurance agency serving educators. The agent will identify insurance and financial solutions that support educators’ affordability and financial security, develop market access and relationships, present products to groups and individuals, and engage in networking and community events. The role offers an exclusive territory, training, technology, a multiline product portfolio, and a dedicated Service Representative to handle client service work. No external office is required for the first two years.

Compensation is performance-based and described as 1099, with incentives tied to activity and success during the first 48 months, including quarterly production incentives. The company also provides market and relationship-building programs to help establish and grow the agent’s network.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong business management skills.
• Resident state General Lines Insurance Licenses: Life and Health Insurance License and Property and Casualty Insurance License.
• Ability to obtain FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses, if applicable in the region.

• 2–5 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry is preferred.
