About The Position

Medical City Lewisville is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to help prevent the spread of infections and promote a healing environment. EVS colleagues interact with patients and clinical staff and contribute to a positive patient experience through service, safety, and professionalism. The role involves routine manual cleaning and care of assigned hospital areas, which may include the linen room and waste handling, public assembly areas, patient care and therapy areas, halls, and foyers. The technician uses cleaning products, equipment, and protective gear to clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, and other public areas as needed. Duties also include removing trash, dirty linen, and sharps containers, and safely disposing of infectious and hazardous waste according to standard procedures. Medical City Lewisville is a full-service medical and surgical facility with more than 190 beds. It serves southern Denton County and is part of the Medical City network. The facility prioritizes customer service and patient safety.

Requirements

Good communication skills, including the ability to speak and understand written and oral English.
Ability to work and cooperate with team members and other departments as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Healthcare or service-related industry experience is highly preferred.
Experience working with hazardous waste materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine manual cleaning and care of assigned areas, including, as applicable, the linen room and waste-handling areas.
Clean and care for public assembly areas, patient care areas, therapy areas, halls, and foyers.
Use cleaning products, equipment, and protective gear to clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, and other public places as needed or requested.
Remove trash, dirty linen, and sharps containers from designated locations in and around the hospital.
Follow standard procedures for the safe disposal of infectious and hazardous waste materials.
