About The Position

The EVS Technician performs routine manual cleaning and care of assigned hospital areas, including patient-care and therapy areas, public assembly areas, halls, foyers, offices, and restrooms. The role uses cleaning products, equipment, and protective gear to clean and disinfect patient rooms and other areas, supporting infection prevention and a positive patient experience. Duties also include handling linen and waste, removing trash, dirty linen, and sharps containers, and following established procedures for safely disposing of infectious and hazardous waste.

Requirements

• Good communication skills, including the ability to speak and understand written and oral English.
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members and other departments as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare or service-related industry experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working with hazardous waste materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and care for assigned areas, including linen rooms, waste-handling areas, public assembly areas, patient-care areas, therapy areas, halls, and foyers.
• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, and other public areas using appropriate products, equipment, and protective gear.
• Remove trash and dirty linen from rooms and remove sharps containers from designated locations in and around the hospital.
• Follow standard procedures for the safe disposal of infectious and hazardous waste materials.
